i can see only the desktop after booting from the ubuntu 9.10 i386 desktop-cd. There is no panel on top and no on bottom of the screen.

No key was pressed, no action made. I just startet the live cd and when the desktop appears, the gnome panel crashed. So now i can't click anything but the 2 standard desktop icons "Readme" and "Install Ubuntu 9.10"
