printer configuration crashes when trying to connect to another network

Binary package hint: system-config-printer

Ubuntu 9.04

when trying to connect to a server,
a dialog box appears:

CUPS server error
There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'httpConnectionEncrypt failed'.

this dialog box wont close and you have to force quit the program.
