system-config-printer.py takes ages to load

Bug Description
Binary package hint: cups
I selected System -> Printing to get some status information about my printer. This application does not respond right after start.
On console, I don't get any information:
gz@gcomputer:~$ /usr/share/
^C^C^C^C^C^C
It also does not respond after trying to break it (via ctrl+c).

I waited for about 5 minutes without any change. Then I killed it. Not sure if it would be loaded if I would have waited longer.
