Bug Description

Binary package hint: cups

Hi,

Printing anything on non-standard paper sizes is impossible. The "Custom" paper size in system-config-printer does not allow you to actually set anything. And the custom paper sizes setting in Evince does not actually "stick". After setting it and hitting apply, it reverts back to A4.

Thanks.

This is not a problem of CUPS. The implementation of custom paper sizes in CUPS works. The problem are the graphical user interfaces which do not (correctly) implement support for entering and using custom paper sizes.

system-config-printer is missing support for custom paper sizes completely.

The implementation in evince seems to be broken.

These are two independent bugs. Please post a new bug report for the evince problem.

I am using UBUNTU 11.10 Oneric Ocelot. When trying to print a document on custom sized paper using for example LibreOffice, the option is simply not available. When you hit print and select pinter properties and goto paper size, the option of user defined/custom paper size is simply not available to select. This should be corrected asap.

I am having the same issue where custom fields are not displayed. Trying to enter a custom PIN for print jobs does not display the input box required to type in the PIN.

Hello,
This bug affects the latest version of Ubuntu as well. This is an important issue for me since I need to print a custom size. Does anyone know a manual work-around until this issue is resolved?

Thank you.
