printer notification icon is pointless and annoying

Bug Description

Binary package hint: system-config-printer

When I print a document, the printer icon appears in the notification area, and then it stays there forever. This is apparently the result of someone having used Windows for too long: pointless and annoying icons installed permanently on the screen. The icon should only appear if something goes wrong, and it should disappear when the situation is normal.

The printer icon should disappear after the print job is over, in order for it to disappear you have to manually right click "Hide". After you "Hide" the printer icon it won't appear again until you do a restart.

Yes, I agree and con confirm what Josh T wrote. A workaround is to manually launch system-config-printer-applet (you could probably even make a script to respawn it automatically, but it should be needless and this bug should be fixed)
