Gutsy-beta: no way to cancel stopped jobs

Bug Description

When I start a print job that gets stopped for some reason (printer not turned on, out of paper, or maybe I just want to abort a job I started, whatever), there is no way to cancel it with system-config-printer.py. In Fiesty, this was dead easy - there was a dialog in Administration-Printing that allowed you to pause, resume or cancel jobs.

Maybe there is a dialog menu somewhere - I've looked and looked, and so far can't find it. If it exists, it must be cleverly hidden.

The only way I've found to manage print jobs in Gutsy-beta is to open Firefox, type http://localhost:631/jobs/ and manage it (through CUPS). This is not intuitive, and I doubt that the majority of users would know how to do this.

Please update your Gutsy and you will find a menu entry "Applicationa"/"Accessories"/"Manage Print Jobs". See also bug 149529.

Completely disagree. Job management for a user's own jobs is not system administration any more than printing a file is.

Very well, but I still suggest changing the menu item to "Print Jobs" rather than "Manage Print Jobs". The latter might seem more clear to you, but as a developer you know the system inside and out. Dumb users like me are expecting to see the word "Print" before anything else. It's a question of being intuitive. Apparently I'm not the only one who got confused by the menus.

Not trying to be argumentative, just expressing my "gut level" feelings about Gutsy's interface. Maybe you should poll a few fellow users and see how they feel.

Gutsy looks like it's going to be a great release, by the way. Thanks for all the hard work.

peace,
Robert
