Bug Description

Binary package hint: system-cleaner

Let's say I installed KDE 4.1.1 through http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-kde4-members/ and I disabled the PPA for a while, because Update Manager was offering me 100 updates for the KDE 4.1.2 update. I started up Cruft Remover to remove something, and I have to uncheck 100 packages that are now marked as "local". Re-enabling the PPA is not an option.

Seriously, this is a no-brainer that should have been one of the first things implemented.

I don't really have enough cruft to have a problem with unselecting everything, so I didn't think of this.

The most efficient way to do this is to click on the first piece of cruft you want to remove, then use the keyboard (space to toggle, down arrow to move) to go through the rest of the list.

A more efficient way to do this will happen at some point in the future.

I'm using Discover in Lubuntu 18.10 and I don't see a way to "select all" nor "deselect all." Currently, the most efficient way to deselect many is to
- click on a check mark in front of an update thereby deselecting it
- arrow down to move to the next update
- [Enter] to deselect that update
- arrow down / [Enter] repeatedly

I wanted to deselect all because I had just installed Lubuntu and there were many updates. When I tried to update all (the default), it was very slow and many updates were begun at the same time. When my weak and unstable connection lost the connection, I ended up with apparently no updates completed. I was most successful when I did a group of about 10 or 20 MB of updates.
