Bug Description

Normal (previous) behaviour on booting a thin client at 192.168.1.128 is that after dhcp and tftp are found it states:

TFTP prefix: /ltsp/i386
Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/ffffffff-ffff-ffff-ffff-ffffffffffff
Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/C0A80180
Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/C0A8018
Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/C0A801
...
Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/0
whereupon it boots successfully.

Update to Karmic and new ltsp-build-client gives this on the thin client:

TFTP prefix: /ltsp/i386
Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/ffffffff-ffff-ffff-ffff-ffffffffffff
and then it hangs on this line, it never looks for the actual MAC address.

What is your version of the syslinux package?
dpkg -l syslinux

If this happens to you with the latest version of syslinux (currently 2:3.63+dfsg-2ubuntu3),
and it doesn't happen if you use an earlier version (e.g. trying copying pxelinux.0 from Jaunty),
then you should report this bug to the syslinux package, not in ltsp. Thanks!

If I copy pxelinux.0 from an earlier version then it boots correctly, thanks.

Is it possible to transfer this bug to the syslinux package or do I need to close this and open a new one?

affects: ltsp (Ubuntu) → syslinux (Ubuntu)
