Bug Description

Installer hard resets after the boot menu on many Chromebooks, e.g. Acer C720. Others report the same behavior at http://askubuntu.com/questions/558525/usb-installer-just-exits-when-trying-to-install-on-a-chromebook-c720

Is the Ubuntu installer using syslinux 6.02+ and a relocatable kernel?

If so, see patch at http://www.syslinux.org/archives/2015-February/023209.html

I've confirmed that the daily build (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/) installer also hard resets.

I don't have the necessary knowledge to review the patch, but hopefully assigning it to the syslinux package will be helpful.

affects: installation-report (Ubuntu) → syslinux (Ubuntu)
