Synfig segfaults on i386 and x86_64

Dear Colleagues,

synfig segfaults on intrepid on i386 and x86_64 bit.

You can see the splash loading screen, and after that it segfaults.

I can confirm this, latest Intrepid Ibex release, on x86-64. SynfigStudio developers also confirms it. Apparently it is fixed in the latest release of Synfig Studio (0.61.09) but the Ubuntu version is 0.61.08. The reason for the crash seems to be that GTK+ is too new for it.

Please remove the package or upgrade it to 0.61.09.

If backporting is too much trouble, the attached one-line change fixes the problem.

It's revision 2107 in subversion - see http://synfig.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/synfig?view=rev&revision=2107 once sourceforge fix their subversion server or http://synfig.org/Source_code for the repository paths.

Incidentally, this bug is misfiled - it should be against 'synfigstudio' not 'synfig', and is almost certainly a duplicate.

I can confirm this bug is still in Intrepid 64bit:
