Synfig starts, but when it finishes to load the splash does not start, from terminal:

Same problem here with exactly the same error message. The system is intrepid on a Dell m1330.

According to http://www.synfig.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&p=1306 a newer version does not have this problem anymore. Did not test it though, since there is no .deb on the synfig homepage.

I suggest testing 0.61.09 and updating the Ubuntu repository.
