Absence of "ffmpeg" in "Render Dialog"

Dear maintainers!
When I installed Synfig Studio from Ubuntu Software Center 23 june 2014 I hade no "ffmpeg" in the Target of Render Dialog. I tryed to reinstall programm some times but there was no effects - ability to render in .mpg was absent.
I was searching about it in Internet but there wasn't any information. When I install Synfig from http://www.fosshub.com/download/synfigstudio_0.64.1-20131104.8_i386.deb and I taken this option. It started to present in programm. I think you should know this and may be it problems of repository?
My system is Ubuntu 14.04.

I am having this problem too. I am using Kubuntu 14.10 x64 and ffmpeg does not appear in the render dialog. ffmpeg was replaced by lav, but synfig seems not to know how to handle lav, so I do not have the option to render directly to a video file.
