This is probably more urgent as syncevolution presently fails to build from source in Maverick. Originally it failed from a redefinition of "sync", but if you fix this, there are deeper issues in beta2a where it will still fail to build related to dbus changes.

I just checked, and unfortunately sid does not have a later update as yet either. So actually this cannot be done as a pure "sync request" (from Debian), but rather I think would have to be submitted as a new upstream update, which means a new ubuntu package has to be built (can of course be based on the existing debian packaging, but would be something like syncevolution-1.0-0ubuntu1), and a debdiff created from the current package in the archive to the new one. Once done this can then be uploaded and submitted for sponsorship.

Help was requested for testing updated .deb packages. See http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mobile.syncevolution/1639

I suppose Ubuntu users could also try out these .debs.

the packages for libsynthesis and syncevolution can be found on mentors.debian.net, but the new syncevolution fails with maverick's version of dbus. please provide a patch.
