Bug Description

If you click the "Show details" button in synaptic during an update, you can see the details displayed in a text window. The text can be highlighted by click dragging the mouse. But you cannot copy any of the text. If you try to copy and paste any text using Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V, you will get nothing copied or pasted.

Either the text should not be able to be highlighted in the first place, or the text that is highlighted should be copyable into the clipboard. Either way, it looks like a bug.

This bug exists in synaptic-0.75.2ubuntu8 in Oneiric amd64, and has existed for several years in previous versions of synaptic at least as far back as Hardy's.

Worse still, typing Ctrl-C is interpreted as an interrupt and a warning appears with the text:

"Ctrl-C pressed" "This will end the operation and may leave your system in a broken state. Are you sure that you want to do that?"
