Bug Description

Synaptic shows a Reload progress bar when you hit the Reload button. The Reload progress bar is useless because it updates very unsmoothly. It jerks backwards suddenly when starting the next repository. It moves forwards normally while downloading the index from a repository. The number of backward jerks of the progress bar is the same as the number of different repositories and ppas.

This affects only the Reload progress bar. The other progress bars in synaptic update smoothly.

This bug exists in synaptic-0.75.2ubuntu8 in Oneiric amd64.

It does not appear to be related to the video driver because it happens under different drivers and graphics systems - nouveau, intel, ati, and nvidia.

It does not appear to be related to the desktop because it happens under GNOME 2.0 Classic, KDE, Unity 2D and Unity 3D.
