Binary package hint: synaptic

i had finished installing some new packages and updating some others. clicked the ok or done button and waited for it to let me close synaptic. but it crashed instead.

i'll submit the crashlog after i've installed synaptic-dbgsym and retraced it.

Unfortunately the backtrace is rather short. My current guess is that
there is a problem in openCache(). It looks like it is using a old _package pointer.

Is this problem reproducable in some way? Or jus thappens sometimes?

Just sometimes happens. It is weird how short the backtrace is,,, i've never seen one so short.

I suspect that some of the other apport bugs with this very short stacktrace are duplicates of this one.
