[Maverick] History missing

Since October, history no longer shows in Synaptic:

File|History - latest entries are for October only and show no history for changes in November.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description and possibly an apport-collect, strace or backtrace of the potential problem. I am able to view 'the history' in Synaptic, as well as Ubuntu software Centre and via /var/log/dpkg.log.

Can we get a snapshot of /var/log/apt/history.log too if you don't mind so that we can see if apt stopped logging actions too and to determine if this is a bug in synaptics or a possible bug in apt. Thanks for helping us narrow this down. You should see something like:

No problem history log is attached. These are test partitions. I've another machine (clean install) with a test partition and that machine stopped logging history in synaptic on Nov 1. Happy to provide the logs for that as well if you wish to compare.
