Synaptic hangs on sorting by supported status (no console output)

Currently using Synaptic 0.63.1ubuntu3 on Lucid, and the program consistently hangs on sorting by supported status. No other column sorts exhibit this problem. Unfortunately there's no console output to post here. I have noticed, however, when hanging the program by doing this, the waiting channel in System Monitor changes from "poll_schedule_timeout" to nothing (the field is blank).
