Bug Description
Binary package hint: synaptic
Using breezy, synaptic 0.57.4. When searching for the package 'minicom' by name it is found correctly. When searching for keywords known to occur in the description of the minicom package it fails to find minicom.
To reproduce:
1. Run Synaptic, press Search, and choose "Description and Name". Search for 'minicom'. The package is correctly found, no problem. The text description includes the line "friendly menu driven serial communication program"
2. Press Search and now search for the text "serial communication" (the quotes are not present in the search string). It finds 7 matching packages: ckermit, kmd, powstatd-crypt, snooper, socat, tilp, uucp. But NO minicom. Apparently, the search feature searches the long description, but does not search the brief "one-liner" description. Perhaps it should.
thanks for your bugreport.
This is fixed in the current version of synaptic in edgy.
thanks,
Michael
