Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

On Ubuntu 9.10, with all updates installed:
1. Start synaptic
2. Sort by Installed version
3. Unmark an installed package
Expected result:
Package should be unmarked.
Result:
Package is unmarked, and sorting is reset to default, so the packages are not sorted by installed version anymore.

When I have tested it first time, as far as I can remember, I had
something entered in the quicksearch box, but now I have tested it with
an empty quicksearch box, and the behaviour is the same... the sorting
is reset, so the sorting arrow from the sorting column disappears.

I wanted to report a similar bug, but i think this must be the same thing.
What I experience is: open synaptic, filter the list by "status" (ie. installed, not installed, etc.) and "installed". i see a list of all installed packages, but unsorted (or not sorted by the package name, to say the least)
when i click on the "package name" column header, it sorts the list alphabetically, but then loses the "status" filtering, so i'll see a list of all packages, sorted...
also quick search doesn't work.
this is ubuntu 9.10 x64 upgraded all the way from 7.04 x64.

It's worth noting, that the behavior has improved, sorting and filtering is not lost right now, but only the sorting indicator arrow disappears, so it's only a minor aesthetic issue.
