Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

This happens in Karmic 64bit. For example, I try to downgrade avahi packages by selecting them all, then I go to Package->Force Version... and select the lower version and click Force Version button, however only the last selected package is affected.
In contrast, if I want to lock package version, Package=>Lock version works as expected on multiple selections.

Thanks for your report.

confirmed with latest version of synaptic in lucid.
Setting to wishlist because currently it's a design decision to only apply to one package since you must choose the version to force for each package, it's not easily doable for a list of packages.
Force Version should probably be disabled when multiple packages are selected.

Changed in synaptic (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Triaged

Actually if a set of packages all have the same version number, it would be useful if I could select them all and apply Force Version to all of them at once. In this situation, the Force Version dialog could offer only versions which are actually available for all of the selected packages.
