Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

On Karmic (probably affects earlier versions too), I've found the input focus doesn't follow the mouse pointer when doing a drag-select in the Quick search text-edit followed by pressing the [Delete] key.

Scenario:

1. In Quick Search enter "network"
2. In the package-list highlight "network-manager"
3. Use the mouse to drag-select the word "network" in the Quick search text-edit control
4. Press the [Delete] key (intending to delete the selection)
5. Synaptic asks if "network-manager" is to be removed, and doesn't delete the Quick search selection
5a. right-click when the selection is done brings up a context menu that includes the "Delete" option, which correctly clears the selection
