synaptic can not update

Bug Description

When adding then updating repositories in synaptic it reports that the file is locked even if it is the only application running if you have used apt-get within 10 minutes. You can however install programs if you cancel the update.

I think this problem is fixed with the latest upload of synaptic and update-manager. Could you please test and let me know if it works now for you?

Immediately after the update it wouldn't let me do anything on updating
(logged in, clicked on 'update' notification, reported that it couldn't
get a lock) but since then it looks good.
