Bug Description
Hi
I am not able to update from behind a proxy server which needs authentication. I have installed Ubuntu 8.10. My university uses a proxy server which needs to be authenticated.
I have given my login name and password at
System >> Administration >> Synaptic Package Manager >> Settings >> Preferences >> Network >> Manual Proxy Configuration and given my login details in the authenticate tab
I have also added these details in the Network part of Preferences.
However when I use the update manager and click on reload I get a message saying
.
W: Failed to fetch http://
.
.
where pradeep.podal is my login name.
I tried with a different login ID [my friend's] without a dot in it and the update went past through this stage. It still failed and said that my key is invalid but I believe that is a different issue and can be easily fixed.
I will update with any more details when I get them
Thanks
Pradeep
