Dapper F3 : cannot install acroread

Hi

I upgraded my PC from Breezy to Dapper (not installed from scratch). I do regular updates (when notified).

I went to synaptic to install adobe acroread and its plugin
- tick the boxes
- apply
- apply button

The synaptic window disappeared immediatly, no installation

I've got the same w/ amarok. This time I did:

$ sudo synaptic, but no difference.

Synaptic cannot install anything, sorry!!

Thank you for your bug. Please check if this still persists in Dapper Beta. If it does, please attach your sources.list

YES, no difference.

Reminder: I'm under Dapper upgrade from Breezy and doing daily update. I did one this morning, then tryied to install, thru synaptic, acroread-plugin, but noway, I had to do sudo apt-get install ....

I reinstalled Dapper (May 9) and it's OK then.

Hm, this sounds like a bug we had with the libgail component. Does it crash for you when you enable the "assistive" support (in System/Preferences) ?

Well actually I reinstalled Dapper from the 9 May version, and I've no Pb, neither for acroread nor for assistive support.

Maybe the update had a Pb but I switched to "install from scratch". I assume you can close this bug now, Thx
