Bug Description
The new Quick Search feature in Intrepid 8.10 is not functioning on a current, up to date install, 10/12/08.
When I try to do a quick search I am only able to type in two characters and then Synaptic freezes up. If I do a force quit, Synaptic appears to quit but does not. I can not start Synaptic again from the menu shortcut, nothing happens. If I try to start Synaptic from the terminal the ouput tells me that the front end is trying to start. The System Monitor shows that cpu use is at 100% and restarting the system is necessary to bring things back to normal.
Synaptic works as it should in all other respects. I apologize if this bug has already been reported but I was not able to find an existing report containing the same issues.
