synaptic's category window forgets scroll position after applying changes

I have the preference "show package properties in the main window" selected.

With the "sections" button selected I can see the package categories in the list box at the left of the main window.

If I have to scroll down to select a category and then apply changes, the selection is remembered but the scroll position is reset - it shouldn't be.

The description of this report seem not to indicate any relation to uswsusp. Therefore I have changed the package to synaptic.
