Bug Description
Binary package hint: synaptic
lsb_release -d => Ubuntu 8.04.1
KDE 3.5.9
This bug relates to

[Wishlist] Removing software+
but goes one step further.
When installing a package, conflicts may occur, requiring previously installed packages to be removed.
In my case I was trying out splashy (for uswsusp) and it conflicted with kubuntu-
When I (eventually) found out it didn't offer a solution to me not being able to hibernate I removed it.
It would certainly help users if [synaptic / underlying packaging system] had remembered the conflicting packages and offered to re-install them.
Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!
