What I expected is for each package to retrieve up to date package information.

Instead I receive a Failed response in the status column of synaptic, no matter which repository I select when trying to retrieve updates for all packages.

Has nearly everything EXCEPT Translation-en_US; was this recently renamed to Translation-en ? I do not recall every setting this anywhere, so this is being automatically generated somehow.

I have the problem too, and Synaptic complains about outdated packages now, which is why I noticed it. (IGN lines show the same as success in aptitude so I didn't realize it was a problem.)
