Dir Sir,

My system is:Hp compaq nx9030 laptop
OS: Ubuntu Breezy preview
Processor: 1.6 Ghz Centrino mobile
Memory: 256 MB
Graphics: Intel onboard 82852/855GM
Sound:Intel ICH4 AC'97 controller
network: Realtek 8139, pro wireless 2200BG "ipw2200"

Hello, while installing any package in synaptic 0.57.4 i get the following
warning before Preconfiguring in terminal:

Gdk-WARNING **: local not supported by xlib at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 47, <> line 16.
Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set local modifier at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 47, <> line 16.
Gdk-WARNING **: local not supported by xlib at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 53, <> line 16.
Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set local modifier at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 53, <> line 16.

Is there a trace for this warning? if more info needed please ask.

Thanks for your bugreport.

If you report a bug, please do not change it's status from UNCONFIRMED to NEW.

This usually means that there is something wrong with your locale settings.
Please run "language selector" (from the System/Adminstration menu of your gnome
desktop) and switch to your perfered language.

That should make the message go away (after a reboot at least). Please let me
know if that fixes the problem for you.

Hi again, thanks for your reply Michael Vogt, i checked the language selector
and the settings are Arabic and English "Translation + Input" and system default
is English (United States). By the way i have the problem general font console
service fail to startup and i posted the bug here 15725, could this be related?

The "font console" problem is a different matter and does only affect the work
in a non graphical enviroment (the console when you switch away from X). It is
fixed in a more recent version of breezy btw.

Could you please paste me the output of "locale" when run in a terminal?

Hello, thanks for the explanation Michael, i have a question plz, Can i update
the kernel or breezy version from synaptic? what sources should i enable if so.
