searching can make the scrollbars be way off

Bug Description

When searching for mplayer in synaptic, I inadvertently had capslock on, and
typed "MPLAY". The search, being case sensitive, didn't find anything. However,
when I tried to correct to "mplayer", it came out as "MPLAYer", in spite of my
typing it in lower case. No amount of changing it would let me input "mplayer"!

Typical!

As always, just after submitting the bug, everything starts working better :) It
wasn't case sensitive afterall, so the reported issue is just a cosmetic one.

However, the reason I didn't see any results was that I had scrolled down in the
main synaptic listing pane, but when the search kicks off, it keeps the same
position as current, which is far too many down for the results, which means I
just saw a blank screen. Scrolling up immediately shows the results. This is
perhaps a separate bug?

Thanks

Thanks for your bugreport.

I have seen this scrollbar behaviour before and it seems to be caused by the new
gtk-2.8. I'll have a look how it can be fixed.

Cheers,
 Michael
