Bug Description

I am having a problem with a package (the new gnome-app-install) that won't
update. I clicked on the 'arrow' to show the ouput of apt/dpkg whatever, in the
terminal window, and tried to 'copy' the text/error messages so that I can
submit a bug report, but I didn't manage to copy the text. I could select it
with the mouse, but I couldn't right-click on it. 'Control + Insert' and
'Control + C' didn't work either.

I think it would be great if it were possible to copy text from this terminal
window, so that when submitting bugs, one doesn't have to type everything by
hand, or waste space on the bugzilla server with un-necessary
screenshots/attachments.
More generally, would be good to make sure that it is possible to copy text
whenever Synaptic shows errors messages of some kind, not just from the
terminal window.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Copy and paste is possible from the synaptic terminal window. You have to mark
the text and you can then paste it with the middle mouse button.

The real problem here is that synaptic didn't display the error in a propper
error message. This is because of a error in apt that prevents errors from being
reported. There is a upload pending for that. With that the error text will be
in a normal gtk error dialog.

Cheers,
 Michael
