Bug Description
I use Ubuntu Update Manager to check for updates at frequent intervals. Also the
Update Manager is set to automatically check for software updates on a daily
basis. Occaisionally, I have need to use Synaptic Package Manager and, when I
do, I get a message telling me that my package information is older than 48
hours. I assume that using Ubunto Update Manager means that I do not have to use
Synaptic Package Manager to check for software updates. If this is correct then
the out of date message should not appear.

Thanks for this bugreport.
The update information warning does not play well with update-manager and
produced a lot of wrong messages. It was removed in breezy because of this.
Sorry for the trouble,
Michael
