Bug Description
I noticed a very minor issue with synaptic's progress bar in Hoary
Array CD 6. It seems that sometimes it will leave out the
units/second in certain situations. I noticed it displaying "4088 /s
..." or "215 /s" I assume those would be bits per second? Higher
transfer rates are displayed correctly such as "15.6 kB/s".
I noticed this when I installed hoary on a computer with a modem
connection and the data seemed to be transfered in bursts rather than
a constant stream. I'd get a burst at 15 k or higher which would
trickle down to nothing, sit for a while then repeat with another
burst. I guess this is a matter for the users group, but does anyone
know how to throttle the connection so it doesn't do this?
(thanks to Robert Crosbie for reporting this)
Thanks for your bugreport.
This should be fixed with synaptic_ 0.55+cvs2005031 1. If you feel apt should have bugs.debian. org/cgi- bin/bugreport. cgi?bug= 146877
a "limit-bandwidth" option, please file a new wishlist bug. FYI, there is a
debian bug open about this (throttle):
