Synaptic crash with segmentation fault but dpkg keeps running in background

Bug Description

In current Trusty development branch (dist-upgraded daily), package version synaptic 0.81.1 amd64.
Almost every time I run synaptic, after downloading either new packages or upgrades, synaptic does close the "downloading" dialog but does not show the "installing" dialog. Even if no dialog is visible, the main window is "busy" and suddenly the main process exits with segmentation fault.

Dpkg continue in background so installation/upgrades are applied correctly (but what if any pkg needs input during configure?).

Problem found. Segmentation fault occurs in libvte-2.90 library.

The libvte-2.90 causing the bug is package version 0.36.0-1ubuntu1~trusty1 coming from ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-staging.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug?
If you are, could you let us know, and in the current version, run the following (only once):

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu better.
