Using Synaptic with an RTL UI (Hebrew in my case) yields the following problems:
1. Not all columns are seen. The column showing weather the package is installed or not is invisible (see screenshot).
2. When trying to re-size columns by dragging their border with the mouse, they move at the opposite direction. Dragging to the left actually drags the border to the right.
3~. I am not sure if this is related, but there is one package with residual config which is invisible in Hebrew UI. When clicking on the white space where this mysterious package should be listed, synaptic crashes with the message:
(synaptic:24475): IBUS-WARNING **: The owner of /home/yotam/.config/ibus/bus is not root!

Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with synaptic. You made this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu has been updated since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug?
If you are, could you let us know, and in the current version, run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
