Bug Description

Since a few days i cant change / open Settings -> Repositories : i only get a popup saying

The repository information has changed. You have to click on the "Reload" button for your changes to take effect

I've purged synaptic then reinstalled it but get the same problem: the sources.list is not opened, but get this popup. So i cant select/deselect an entry via synaptic.

O.K I have read the console output.

That is looking far away from normal.

What have you done :)

I see the prolem in your etc/apt/sources.list

and not so in synaptic.

I attach a exerpt of mine sources list(basic with universe and multiverse enabled). You may want to rename yours as sources.list_backup and copy the attached in /etc/apt/ . When the Problem not occure with this list you know that have to do some wipe out in yours.

You know: Bring it there with terminal as sudoer or with

gksu nautilus

and set the privileges/owner correct.

Please do not upgrade with this list. It whould only show if syanptic can in principle work with(update package list).

now it has been fixed by the latest aptdaemon 0.45+bzr848 .

But opening that Settings -> Repositories gui is very slow, much more than before, i mean before using Software-properties-gtk; as synaptic now call it.
