Bug Description

Binary package hint: swscanner

As you may know SWScanner is crashing on Ubuntu 7.10, but apparently the software author has solved the problem in SVN.
It would be kindly if you update the package.

Following it goes the text from the author's website:

I don't know the cause yet, but I know it's not kernel version dependent. There are two different people reporting me the same crash, but I'm still waiting to someone sending me the backtrace of the crash to be able to check what's happening.

I hope It'll be corrected soon.

Update 20070708:
This issue is fixed now. The SVN is updated so you can check it out whenever you want.

Thanks a lot.

I agree. It looks like the current version of swscanner crashes as soon as it found an access point. (It is working as long as it does not find anything).

I cannot confirm that, because on my laptop it chashes as soon as it starts scanning, but there's always some AP near!
I'll try someday far from the city.

Xoli, you just have to find the right wrench to hammer in that screw. You could simply turn off the wireless radio on your laptop.
