I'm not a java developer so have no idea what the error is trying to say.

Same problem here.

Confirmed. When you install Sweethome3D in Ubuntu 14.04, none of the listed dependencies are being installed. The single recommended package (sweethome3d-furniture) is installed. I tried with the Software Center, Synaptic and command line, none of them actually install the dependencies
