Bug Description

Sweep does not play audio.

/usr/bin/sweep <any wav or aiff file>

and then pressing play, results in:

sweep: alsa_setup: audio interface does not support host endian 32 bit float samples (Invalid argument)
Floating point exception (core dumped)

It may well be an ALSA bug.

It should work with libasound2 from hardy (you can install it in gutsy without any problem).
A backport has been requested with bug #164890.
Please help testing the backported package in order to speed up backporting!
Thanks!

I installed libasound2_1.0.15-1ubuntu1_i386.deb and it did indeed fix
sound playing for both programs that had stopped working when I
upgraded to gutsy.
