the install of package supercollider failed because of a missing dependencie of which require >libjack-80 and libjack-100 is install.

Exactly the same problem here.

Ubuntu 7.04 x86_64 with the latest updates.
libjack 100 is installed and supercollider installation fails with: "Depends: libjack0.80.0-0 (>=0.98.1) but it is not installable"

The solution is to manually install libjack0.80.0-0 until the package is updated. supercollider depends on a specific version of the shared library. The version is in the name of the dependacy.

supercollider would need to be tested with the latest version of libjack to make sure that there are no regressions.

I cannot seem to reproduce this problem here. Supercollider in feisty seems to be built against libjack0.100.0-0, and the ubuntustudio metapackages will be updated soon anyway.

Could you please give step by step instructions on how to reproduce this bug?

I have the issue on my computer. I have a feisty upgraded from an edgy amd64

You could see on apt-cache supercollider 's dependencies

sudo apt-cache depends supercollider | grep jack

on the AMD64 distribution supercollider depends on the release 0.80.0 of libjack

Is this a bug or what? I'm trying to install ubuntustudio-audio on amd64 feisty, but am also experiencing problems:

What's up with this? Is it safe to install the Debian version:

It is indeed a bug. The supercollider client does not work on 64-bit machines, and is no longer built. Feisty is the last version that will have the broken and outdated version distributed. If you must use supercollider, please use a 32-bit machine. If you want ubuntustudio, you are better off installing the dependency packages by hand at this point.
