java plugin doesnt works correctly with spanish characteres

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

In my case, after to install java, when i try to access to an irc, the spanish character tilde, doesnt shows correctly and i cant access to the chat correctly. For the rests of aplicationes java works perfect, but only fails when try to represent the character tilde.

Would you be able to provide a screen-shot of what shows up when you press the tilde character? That should help us narrow down the problem.
