Bug Description

Binary package hint: sun-java6-plugin

Ever since apt got rid of my firefox2, making FF3 compulsory, things have gone awry.
I cant seem to get the plguin to work in FF3. I checked about:plugins its just not there. So i got rid of it. and tried to install again. This didnt help. So i got rid of it, went to http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml , let firefox as ask to install the plugin, i choose it, and still doesnt work.

Oh yeah when the system askedme to import from FF2, i had chosen NO. I didnt expect FF2 to disappear honestly

Hi, I can confirm this problem. I've got the sun-java6-plugin installed (it made me install the package called firefox which was not installed by default on a clean alpha5 install). However it is not present in the about:plugins page. When I go here to test java: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml ff says I must install a plugin. I click the bar at the top, choose sun-java6-plugin and it tells me this is already installed. Then it says the installation was successful and to restart my browser. I restart, return to this page and the process tries to repeat. So apparently the installation was not successful.
