sun-java6 should provide java5-runtime, java6-runtime

Bug #181028 reported by Thomas Butter on 2008-01-07
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
sun-java6 (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Currently sun-java6-jre provides

Provides: java-virtual-machine, java2-runtime, java1-runtime

Since it also provides a java5 and java6 runtime this should be reflected in Provides.

icedtea-java7-jre does this:

Provides: java-runtime, java2-runtime, java5-runtime, java6-runtime, java7-runtime

I think this should be unified:

java-runtime <-> java-virtual-machine
java1-runtime <-> java-runtime

Daniel Hahler (blueyed) wrote :

Appears to be fixed in Hardy (sun-java6-jre 6-04-1):
Provides: java-runtime, java-runtime-headless, java-virtual-machine, java2-runtime, java2-runtime-headless, java5-runtime, java5-runtime-headless, java6-runtime, java6-runtime-headless

Changed in sun-java6:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Fix Released
