Bug Description

Package contains old naming convention for gnome. Currently some icons do not display as Nuovo and default to gnome icons in both desktop and nautilus (folder icons etc...). Current icons sets that have this problem include Nuovo, Humility, Suede and Yasis other icon sets that I have not tested probably have this problem as well. The problems seems to stem from still having a folder called "filesystems" and not "places" plus many of the icon names have not been renamed and/or linked as they are supposed to be. An icon set that works perfectly is the Gion set which seems to follow the new specifications laid down here:

http://standards.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-latest.html

Icon set that currently do not follow new convention should be either brought up to date or should be removed from repositories as they don't work properly and the steps to fix this are probably too frustrating/involved for casual/newbie users. This may be an upstream problem as some icon sets downloaded using Gnome Art Manager from gnome art itself display the same problems.

Should have mentioned this is only a problem with 8.04, icon sets work fine in 7.10.

Nautilus changed the names of the icons it uses to match the fr.o spec. As we do not ship any of the icon themes you mention I suggest reporting this bug to the maintainer of the icon package itself as there is nothing that we can do about this.
