Bug Description

Binary package hint: sudo

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha Release 2 from Stable version Ubuntu 7.10 by running "sudo update-manager -d" from terminal

Now I am having a huge problem of running any administrative applications (I even can't update my system). I tried running them in the terminal then I find following error

"sudo: unable to resolve host shahriar-desktop"

I have no idea why it is happening

(During setup I have opted for removal of obsolete applications) I have no idea whether this selection have caused this problem or not.

In hardy α4, Networking-gui had edited my /etc/hosts.

Originally there was a line: "xxx.xxx.xx.xx hostname"
it had changed it to
"xxx.xxx.xx.xx hostname.home"

I deleted ".home", and sudo works again.
