Bug Description

Binary package hint: subtitleripper

:~/LIBERATION/VIDEO_TS$ subtitle2pgm -help
subtitle2pgm: Use 'man subtitle2pgm' for help.
:~/LIBERATION/VIDEO_TS$ man subtitle2pgm
No manual entry for subtitle2pgm
See 'man 7 undocumented' for help when manual pages are not available.

Surely there should be a man page if the programme specifically points a person towards one.

For information:
:~/LIBERATION/VIDEO_TS$ subtitle2pgm -version
subtitle2pgm: Using libpbm from Netpbm Version: Netpbm 10.0
subtitle2pgm: BSD defined
subtitle2pgm: RGB_ENV='RGBDEF'
subtitle2pgm: RGBENV= 'RGBDEF' (env vbl is unset)

I ACK this bug, subtitleripper is not shipped with docs, and as subtitle2pgm has no "--help" function it is quite difficult to find out a correct syntax.
Googling for manuals isn't successfull either, so I'm afraid subtitleripper really lacks manual pages...

1 second after that I found out subtitle2pgm DOES has a help function, but only when called using "-h"
tim@desktop:/media/Muziek/Unsorted/Tijdelijk/DVD Images$ subtitle2pgm --help
subtitle2pgm: Use 'man subtitle2pgm' for help.
tim@desktop:/media/Muziek/Unsorted/Tijdelijk/DVD Images$ subtitle2pgm -help
subtitle2pgm: Use 'man subtitle2pgm' for help.
tim@desktop:/media/Muziek/Unsorted/Tijdelijk/DVD Images$ subtitle2pgm -foo-bar
Unknown option. Use -h for list of valid options.
tim@desktop:/media/Muziek/Unsorted/Tijdelijk/DVD Images$ subtitle2pgm -h

Convert a subtitle stream to pgm images
[snip]

Strange behaviour, isn't it? Different error messages on "-help" and "--help", then on "-foo-bar"...

Still lacks manual pages though

I added a bug report for the bug in the behaviour of the command line options:
