Bug Description

My NVMe drive as reported by gdisk has abundant free space:

Total free space is 702794349 sectors (335.1 GiB)

Number Start (sector) End (sector) Size Code Name
   1 2048 534527 260.0 MiB EF00 EFI system partition
   2 534528 796671 128.0 MiB 0C01 Microsoft reserved ...
   3 796672 525084671 250.0 GiB 0700 Basic data partition
   4 1996312576 2000408575 2.0 GiB 2700 Basic data partition
   5 525084672 1025085439 238.4 GiB 8300 Debian root
   6 1025085440 1293520895 128.0 GiB 8300 Linux filesystem

I choose custom layout in subiquity. Subiquity only shows the existing partitions but not any option to create a new partition for my installation.

Best regards

Heinrich

Partition 4 which is at the end of the disk is the Windows recovery partition. Definitively nothing the user wants to touch.

This is expected behavior. The partition editing behavior is behind the storage-version=2 feature flag, which is off by default.
