Bug Description

Ubuntu 9.04 has a ifup lazy loading feature to boot up faster. However squid is started as deamon and will fail cache lookups because the network will be up in a later stage.

Ubuntu 9.04
Squid3 (3.0.STABLE8-3)
Firefox 3.08
network-manager (0.7.1~rc3.2.gitb8fc83a7-0ubuntu1)

How to reproduce:
- boot with squid3 enabled and use this proxy in firefox

It will only work if you restart the squid3 deamon with /etc/init.d/squid3 restart.
This will mean after each reboot you have to restart the deamon manually again.

Update: this seems to only fail when network-manager is used. I'm using wicd now and the problem does not appear.

This bug is fixed in squid-3.0.STABLE15-2 as you can see here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=453304

I hope the repositories will be updated soon... but I think it won't happen because Ubuntu Karmic will be coming with 3.0.STABLE13-1 as squid3 latest update. :(
