Bug Description

Binary package hint: splashy

Using this command:
sudo apt-get install startupmanager

And after that:
sudo apt-get install splashy splashy-themes

Caused some crash in dependencies of the packages. No idea why or what for...

Might be similar to bug #502486 apt-get install splashy - crash on ubuntu karmic ( from dist-upgrade). However, its non-Eng language and I have no idea if its related.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

It's annoying though even if not a security issue. I've got a dual boot linuxmint and lucid setup at the moment and I thought I could use splashy to get the linuxmint splash screen not to show up when booting lucid, which is the distro I actually use. For what it may be worth here's what I get:

sudo apt-get install splashy
